Epstein meetings a huge mistake, says Bill Gates

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has admitted he made "a huge mistake" in spending time with sex offender and disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. The 65 year old, who announced in March last year he was stepping down from the Microsoft board, said he and his ex-wife were "Going to try and continue" working together on the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. US media have said Melinda French Gates was furious at his relationship with Epstein and wanted it to end. Speaking of his ex-wife, Bill Gates said she was "a great person, and that partnership that we had coming to an end is a source of great personal sadness". The investigation ended after Mr Gates left the board, but Microsoft said the two were not linked.
