EPA. Twitter has removed a post by Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari for violating its rules. A Twitter spokesperson said the post "Was in violation of the Twitter Rules. The account owner will be required to delete the violative Tweet and spend 12 hours with their account in read-only mode". Mr Buhari's Twitter account on Wednesday afternoon still noted that one tweet was "No longer available". Information Minister Lai Mohammed said that "Twitter may have its own rules; it's not the universal rule", adding that if the president felt "Concerned about a situation, he is free to express such views". Twitter has a long and detailed list of material that should not be used in tweets, including abusive behaviour, harassment, discrimination and violent threats, with various levels of action for violating rules, including post removal and account suspension or deletion.
